I loved this book and the other four books after it. She was independent and cool and nice and pretty amazing. Speaking of, Amarinda was also a really good character. I also really liked he and Amarinda’s relationship. Tobias was a good character, he was smart and nice and I wish he played an even bigger part in the book. He was a pretty good character overall, his loyalties always remained with Sage which I respect. Imogen was an amazing character as well, she was so sweet and kept Sage from doing stupid things (most of the time) I adored their relationship, how Sage sassed everyone but her, just… AGH! Roden wasn’t the best friend throughout any of the books, since he betrayed Sage like a jillion times and was a jerk sometimes. His character was absolute perfection, and his sassy comebacks had me squealing at 1:00 in the morning. Sage is a sassy, witty, clever teen who I’m absolutely in love with.

It did have a few violence here and there, but nothing too gory. The plot was great and the character developments were great. I LOVE LOVE LOVE LOVE LOVED THIS WHOLE SERIES!!! This is basically a review of the whole series. I am starting the second one now and am planning to write a review as soon as I am finished! Happy Reading! Please make sure your child is firm in their standards of morality because sometimes this book seems to blur the lines. It would probably be best to have a discussion after reading the book about how the main character changes throughout the story and if the things he says and does benefit anyone other than himself. (The book also mentions swearing and drinking but never really goes into great detail in that and it slowly disappears as the plot thickens) The main character does lie and steal but only to survive. I would recommend being over 11 and on the less sensitive side because of a sick child being killed in the beginning and then a crude scene afterward. Charlie's voice sounds like how I would imagine Sage sounding.

Wade is very helpful in getting to know Sage, the main character.

This book has captivating characters and plot! Lots of plot twists keep you flipping pages! This is a very good book and I have recommended it to most of my friends.
